🧡 Let’s come together to make sure every neighbor has a warm and fulfilling holiday meal!

Dear Neighbor,

The recent lapse in SNAP funding created unnecessary hardship for 1.9 million Illinoisans and businesses who rely on this vital federal program. With the end of the federal government shutdown, the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) has been working to distribute full SNAP benefits. They expect all remaining benefit payments to be issued in the coming days, with SNAP recipients receiving their full November benefits by Thursday, November 20.

To check your EBT Card balance, visit IDHS: Illinois Link Card or call the Illinois Link Help Line at 1-800-678-LINK (5456). Benefits left on cards from previous months can still be used. You can also reach out to my office for support by calling us at (773) 853-2570 or sending an email to will@repguzzardi.com.

My office is partnering with State Sen. Graciela Guzmán for a Thanksgiving Food Drive. Help us support local families by donating non-perishable food items during this season of gratitude. Requested items include canned vegetables and fruit, boxed cornbread mix, pasta, sauces, soups, and peanut butter.

You can drop off donations at Sen. Guzmán’s office, 3140 W Montrose Ave, from 10am–5pm, through Thursday, November 20, or at my office, 3001 N Central Park Ave from 9am–5pm, through Thursday, November 20. Your generosity truly makes a difference!

And then, if you are in need of food support, join us on Monday, November 24, for a Thanksgiving Grocery Giveaway in partnership with Northwest Side elected officials and community organizations. Groceries will be available while supplies last from 2 to 4pm, at Chopin Park, 3420 N Long Ave.

All my best,

Will
