βœ’οΈπŸ“œ Legislative Updates: My bills were signed into law!

Dear Neighbor,

I have some legislative updates to share with you!

Last week, Governor Pritzker signed five of my bills into law. Read on to learn about each piece of legislation:

HB1628: Tracks data on civil forfeiture to understand when police are seizing property

HB2546: Improves the process for youthful offenders to be eligible for parole

HB3616: Collects data on which communities in Illinois lack affordable housing for middle-class families

SB0019: Enhances the Prisoner Review Board's transparency and member qualifications and expands protections for victims of crime

SB1859: Creates the Climate Displacement Task Force Act to develop recommendations for supporting those displaced by climate change

Also, I wanted to share some news about capital projects for fiscal year 2026. This year I worked with my colleagues in Springfield to secure over $2 million in infrastructure funding for our community. These investments will support schools, parks, and community organizations that provide vital services in our area. We’re proud to support these amazing institutions, and we’ll continue to work on the infrastructure needs of the 39th District in years to come.

If you have any questions about these or any other bills, please let me know. I’ll be sure to keep you updated as further legislative action unfolds in Springfield during the upcoming fall veto session.

All my best,

Will
