☀️Summer 2025 Recap

Dear Neighbor,

This summer, my office and I have been out and about, across the 39th District. We were fortunate to be joined by Michelle, our summer intern, and Zubaidah, our Mikva fellow. We are very grateful for their hard work this summer, and hope you got the chance to meet them at community events! In this week's newsletter, I want to take a moment to reflect on where we've been and all we've accomplished.

In June, we partnered with the Zakat Foundation, Metropolitan Family Services, and Alderwoman Ruth Cruz to host a free grocery giveaway, providing support to 50 families in the district.

We hosted our annual Legislative Town Hall at Prosser alongside fellow progressive Northwest legislators Rep. Lillian Jimenez, Sen. Graciela Guzman, and Sen. Omar Aquino, and more than 150 neighbors to discuss the spring legislative session.

Cook County Commissioner Jessica Vasquez and I hosted a Coffee and Conversation at El Artesanal Coffee, and it was great to engage with constituents about their concerns.

We hosted a Mobile DMV with the Secretary of State and Northwest Side elected offices at NEIU El Centro, bringing services like REAL IDs and Drivers Licenses to our neighborhood.

My office teamed up with Sen. Guzman, Northwest Center, Zakat, and nearly 50 community partners to get the Hermosa neighborhood ready for the new school year by giving away 1000 backpacks and 150 boxes of fresh produce at our Back to School Fair.

My office joined Sen. Guzman, Sen. Villivalam, Rep. Delgado, and Rep. Jimenez at a State of Public Transit Town Hall, for an important discussion on the impending fiscal cliff and ongoing work towards solutions to fund public transportation.

We canvassed our neighborhoods, door-to-door to share Know Your Rights information. We joined Congresswoman Delia Ramirez, Center for Changing Lives, community organizations, business owners, and local leaders for a Know Your Rights Business Crawl in Belmont Cragin to ensure our immigrant communities are informed and protected.

My office also participated in health fairs, back to school block parties, community forums, bike rides, site visits, and other local meetings throughout the summer.

Thank you for being a part of this incredible summer on the Northwest Side!

All my best,

Will
