Updates from Springfield: My Bills Have Passed the House Floor!πŸ›οΈπŸ“œ

Dear Neighbor,

Spring and the legislative session are in full swing! And I wanted to fill you in on some more recent legislative updates: five of my bills have passed through a vote on the House floor! Here is a brief overview of each piece of legislation:

HB 2161 protects employees from discrimination at work on the basis of their family responsibilities.

HB 3763 grants employees the right to inspect, copy, and receive personnel record documents from their employer.

HB 4410 establishes protections for sex workers against abuses by law enforcement, automatically seals related court records, and removes dehumanizing language from Illinois law.

HB 4768 protects tenants who report unfit living conditions in their rented residences from being evicted in retaliation.

HB 5396 improves the process for terminally ill and permanently disabled people in prison to seek early release.

These bills will now make their way for a vote in the Senate. I'll keep you posted here, on how they progress. Until then, please stay in touch, and all my best,
Will
