Resources for Immigrants

  • The Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR) created a public resource guide for all immigrants in the state of Illinois. For more questions text them at 1-855-435-7693. They also have an entire webpage dedicated to resources available for immigrants, click here.

  • The Shriver Center also has a comprehensive webpage that lists resources available to everyone, click here. They also created a fact sheet that is intended to help enrollment assisters answer questions community members may have about possible public charge consequences due to accessing public benefits and programs during the COVID-19 crisis. Email pifillinois@povertylaw.org with questions about or suggestions on how to improve the tool.

  • As of Dec. 1st, 2020 Illinois is the first state to offer health benefit coverage to immigrant seniors! This coverage applies to non-citizens age 65 or over who are not eligible for Medicaid assistance in Illinois due to immigration status. You can learn more about this coverage here. And contact any of the Illinois Welcoming Centers for help applying to this program. You can also apply directly at ABE.Illinois.gov.

  • New DACA applications are now being accepted. You can reach out to the Logan Square Neighborhood Association or ICIRR for assistance with your DACA application.

  • Visit Rincon Family Services to review their COVID-19 resource guide for immigrant families.
