Q: What's your name and position at Reno?

A: Allison Barinholtz - general manager

Q: How long have you been in the neighborhood?

A: Reno opened in November of 2012. I’ve lived in the Logan Square area for the past 6 years. Watching the neighborhood grow has been amazing! The Square has never been so full of life.

Q: What do you want our community to know about Reno?

A: Reno's goal is to provide Logan Square with seasonal, freshly-made, delicious but inexpensive food, with something to offer everyone - even the little ones. We appeal to a casual crowd of all ages and pride ourselves in being a great brunch place, daytime coffee shop, family pizza joint, and local watering hole. We love to make every guest feel like they're already a part of the Reno family when they walk in the door. We love seeing familiar faces!

Q: What’s your favorite summer activity in Chicago?

A: I love visiting the beach -- summers here are so hot and sticky, but Lake Michigan is always nice and cold. Beyond that, nothing beats the simple pleasure of drinking a cold beverage while grilling outside.

Q: What positive attributes does Reno bring to the community?

A: Reno brings people together, like the "Cheers" of Logan Square. Our versatile atmosphere is perfect for accommodating a casual family outing, dinner with friends, date night, birthdays, and even weddings and baby showers. We’ll accommodate any role our guests need and we hope that your experience at Reno, whether a brief meal or a big event, will be unique and memorable.

Q: What's your favorite meal to serve?

A: I love hearing "Wow," from a guest as we place their meal in front of them. The best reactions I get are from our Hook bagel sandwich (house-cured togarashi lox on your choice of bagel with artichoke shmear, red onion, cucumber, and avocado), the Wisconsin burrata appetizer at night (strawberry compote, smoked salt, basil, arugula, balsamic, black pepper - all on top of a thick piece of homemade ciabatta toast), and of course, our epic specialty Bloody Mary, which comes piled with toppings and the all-important beer chaser.
